CapsolGoĀ®Ā
MobileĀ demonstrationĀ unitĀ
CapsolGo® isĀ a mobile carbon capture demonstration unit designed to accelerate investment decisions by allowing customersĀ to verify Capsolās technology on their own facilitiesā flue gas before committing to a full-scale capture plant
CapsolGoĀ® is a mobile carbon capture demonstration unit that allows emitters to test Capsolās technology on-site before committing to full-scale implementation. The all-inclusive package covers transport, installation, operation and reporting, providing customers with valuable real-world performance data on their specific flue gas composition including liquefaction.
By demonstrating capture effectiveness, energy efficiency and solvent performance, CapsolGo® helps emitters de-risk their investment decisions and build internal and external stakeholder confidence in carbon capture. It also supports funding applications by providing independent third-party validation.
Technology description

All emitting facilities are different. However, what comesĀ out of a carbon capture process must be standardisedĀ COā. Carbon capture is the bridge between point sourceĀ COāĀ emission and, later, conditioning and transport. As aĀ result, there is a need to demonstrate that the capture andĀ liquefaction solutions can achieve highĀ COāĀ capture ratesĀ under various operating conditions for different industries: biomass, energy-from-waste, cement, petrochemicals, andĀ others.
The CapsolGo® demonstration campaigns are used to build valuable knowledge as CCS projects move toward full-scale implementation by answering questions such as:
⢠What are the actual contaminants and impurities in the flue gas within various operating conditions of the host plant?
⢠How does the HPC solvent behave with these contaminants and impurities?
⢠How do varying flue gas and operating conditions impact carbon capture performance?
⢠Are there any additional corrosion risks?
In addition, clients typically measure average emission dataĀ for reporting reasons. However, there can be seasonal orĀ instantaneous variability. Making sure allĀ cases are covered is important. WithĀ CapsolGoĀ®, short termĀ variations such as peaks, minimums, and maximumsĀ are exposed. Experience also shows that the flue gasĀ conditions are often less known to the client than theĀ plant owners initially thought. This is another advantageĀ of running a CapsolGo demonstration campaign early in the project,Ā to reduce uncertainties. The early detection ofĀ these specificities is one of the keys to a successful project.
The CapsolGo® demonstration units are also often used as a communication tool, to build social acceptance, get public funding, secure internal support, and for training and educational purposes.
