Advantages of Capsol's solutions
Capsol offers carbon capture solutions for large-scale emitters like EfW (Energy-from-Waste) / Waste-to-Energy (WtE) facilities, cement, biomass and power plants, open cycle gas turbines, and industrial facilities
Cost Competitive
Cost competitive carbonĀ capture technology due to patented energy recuperation whichĀ keeps most of theĀ energyĀ within the system.
Electrical energy consumptionĀ of ~0.7-1.5 GJ/tonnesĀ of CO2Ā captured, depending on the composition and temperature of the flue gas (not including liquefaction).Ā No additional heat energy required.
Safe and Inexpensive HPC Solvent
The Capsol carbon capture unit utilises the non-toxic and inexpensive solvent Hot Potassium Carbonate (HPC).
Potassium Carbonate is a common mixture in the food industry and it is readily available.
The cost of Potassium Carbonate is about 0.25 Euro/tonnes of CO2 captured.
Powered by Electricity only or Steam
The carbon capture solution can run on electricity only, or a combination of electricity and steam. Energy-efficient and cost-effective. Independent of mother plant. No need to invest in steam production to run the capture unit. ~40% lower cost than traditional amine based solutions.
Successful Pilots
Three successful pilot projects with more than 3,300 operating hours and >99% uptime. Selected as technology of choice and plans to convert pilots into full scale plants. Agnostic to source of emissions allowing for broad deployment across multiple industries.
Flexible and Scalable
A single capture unit can process flue gas from plants with emission of up to 2.5 million tonnes CO2/year, with flue gas CO2 concentrations of 20%. Two or more capture units will operate in parallel for facilities with emissions of more than 2.5 million tonnes/year.
Non-disruptive Standalone Unit
Standalone, electric powered solution. Easy to install. No modifications or downtime required at parent plant during installation, commissioning or maintenance. Commissioning in 18-24 months (we only use well known components which are already in use in thousands of plants globally).
Additional Heat for DH System
Capsol's technology can be optimized for maximum heat delivery to the district heating system. Example: get an extra 8 times of additional heat output over 60oC to your district heating system for every 1MWe extra of electricity.
Experienced Team
Technical and commercial experts from the energy, chemical and Oil&Gas industry with 25+ years' experience will work with you to optimize the capture plant to your needs.
Proven Technology
Using HPC as a solvent of CO2 capture is well documented and used in thousands of plants globally in multiple industries, with more than 3,300 operating hours and >99% uptime.
Independent
Capsol is independent. No exclusive agreement with any EPC contractor. Plant owner is free to choose EPC contractor on a competitive bidding process.

HPC - Hot Potassium Carbonate
A safe, environmentally friendly, and readily available solvent for carbon capture
HPC (Hot Potassium Carbonate) is a thoroughly documented, safe (non-toxic, non-flammable), and environmentally friendly solvent for carbon capture, used in more than 700 plants globally.
Both the captured CO2 and the emitted flue gas are totally free of degraded and potentially carcinogenic substances.
Potassium Carbonate is significantly less expensive than amines.

Capsol offers the most energy efficient, flexible, safe and environmentally friendly carbon capture technologies for large scale emitters of carbon dioxide
